Description: Northern Region meeting organised to coincide with an exhibition curated by Jennifer Rennie and Tiffany Glass.

Trip/Event: Roman Glassmakers & Glass Engraving Demonstration
Location: Andover, Hampshire
Description: A full day event in Andover, Hampshire.
The morning will be spent with Mark Taylor & David Hill at their Project Workshops:

Lunch & the afternoon will be spent in Quarley, for a demonstration & talk on glass engraving by
Patricia Hilton-Robinson; participants will be encouraged to engrave their own glass.

10th to 15th September 2009 |
Trip/Event: 'Glass Journey to the two Irelands'
Location: Visit to Dublin & Belfast
Description: This trip to Ireland is packed with lots of interesting visits, mostly in Belfast and Dublin, and some further afield. A couple of nights will be spent in Belfast and three in Dublin. The Ulster Museum and Ballywalter Park with The Lord Dunleath as host, are two of Belfast’s highlights.
In Dublin, the visits will be both to public and private collections. A full day will be spent going to Waterford, Lismore Castle stopping at Kilkenny to visit the National Craft Gallery and Jerpoint Glass Studio.
Charges: £580 pp in double / twin. Single supplement £180 including 5 nights’ accommodation in 3/4 star hotels, 4 lunches, and 5 dinners, all entrance fees and transportation. Flights to / from the UK are excluded. Participants will need to purchase their own flight.

Trip/Event: AGM
Location: Bonded Warehouse, Canal Street, Stourbridge, DY8 4LU
Broadfield House Glass Museum, Compton Drive, Kingwinsford,
DY8 9NS
Description: To coincide with the exhibition ’20thc British Glass’ at Broadfield House and to pay tribute to Broadfield House itself, earmarked for closure in Spring 2010, this year the Glass Association will be holding its AGM in Stourbridge/Dudley.
The celebration day is open to all glass enthusiasts. There will be the opportunity to hear Charles Hajdamach on the subject of his newly published book "British 20th Century Designers - A Success Story"; Richard Giles on “Paperweights of the 20thc”, with particular focus on British paperweights, and Stephen Pollock-Hill on the topic of “The decline of the British Crystal industry and how one small company manages to still battle on”. The day will end with the viewing of the exhibition at Broadfield House, in the presence of Roger Dodsworth and Charles Hajdamach.

Trip/Event: Museum Visit
Location: London
Description: Visit to see the Garton Collection at the Museum of London (Hackney store).
A hands-on visit, supervised by Francis Grew and/or Alex Werner,
to this superb collection of 18th century drinking glasses, tapersticks and other vessels.
Numbers will be limited to twelve members on each visit
